JOURNEY TO SPAIN

The greatest gift I can offer is sharing the ability to appreciate and make good music with others. My journey has taken me from being an organizer in the undocumented youth movement in Southern California to receiving my United States citizenship less than one year ago. Since that time, I also received admission to the Master’s Program in Music Production, Technology and Innovation at the Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. This opportunity could not only change my life but help me to launch a movement towards greater accessibility in music eduction for people of all ages and abilities.
What am I working on in graduate school?:
I'm developing a prototype of a device for turntablists that combines Synthtablism, sampling, and looping functions to take turntable performance further than it's ever gone before. My aim for the device is to allow new frontiers in turntablist expression as far as live performances are concerned.
I am also striving to create popular education models to support therapeutic beat-making projects in communities that are often under-served.
